Make Tax Payments

Available Tax Payment Methods

We recommend the following methods for making your tax payments.

  • Use our Drop Box, located outside of our office (pictured below).
    • Use an envelope. Include your bill and your payment.
    • Please include a phone number with your payment to avoid errors or missed deadlines.
      • Write it on the envelope or the tax bill.
    • NOTE: The Drop Box will not be available for use, after the close of business, on all payment due dates.
    • Optional: (or if you do not have your bill) you can print, complete and include our DROP BOX - PAYMENT DETAILS Form, with your payment, to make sure you include all necessary information.

  • Send a Check or Money Order, payable to:
    • Vincent Deon - Tax Collector
      Northampton Tax Collection Office

      P.O. Box 643
      Richboro, PA 18954

      • Postmark Rules
        • Should a Due date, during the discount or face value period, fall on a weekend or legal holiday, payments are considered 'on time' if postmarked by the next business day. Postage meters cannot be accepted as proof of mailing. As a result of changes to USPS post marking practices, if you wish to have your envelope postmarked for the purpose of indicating the exact date your payment was submitted for mailing, you must go to a retail USPS counter and request that a postal employee manually postmark or 'Hand Cancel' the envelope.
          • Click Here to see examples of properly postmarked envelopes.

  • Pay Online using your bank's 'Bill Pay' option:
    • To avoid having to charge extra payment service fees, we do not offer a direct method of taking online payments. However, most banks offer an 'Online Bill Pay' option whereby you direct your bank, through your bank's website and checking account, to send us a check in any amount you specify.
      • Simply set up 'Vincent Deon, Tax Collector' as a 'payee' or 'vendor' and follow the steps shown online to send a payment to this newly created payee.
      • Your bank will mail us a physical check. Because it is a physical check, we recommend you allow 10-14 days for mailing, so that we receive the check in time.
      • The check we receive from your bank must be dated before the deadline (dates after the deadline will not be accepted.)
      • Be sure to use the check's memo section.
        • For Real Estate taxes enter your Parcel #.
        • For School or Occupational Taxes enter your Account or bill #.
        • See sample Online Payment Check below. (click image to enlarge)

What should I do?
